Storyline

Waiting to Inhale examines the heated debate over marijuana and its use as medicine in the United States. Twelve states have passed legislation to protect patients who use medical marijuana. Yet opponents claim the medical argument is just a smokescreen for a different agenda-- to legalize marijuana for recreation and profit. What claims are being made, and what are the stakes? Waiting to Inhale takes viewers inside the lives of patients who have been forever changed by illness—and parents who lost their children to addiction. Is marijuana really a gateway drug? What evidence is there to support the claim that marijuana can alleviate some of the devastating symptoms of AIDS, cancer and multiple sclerosis? Waiting to Inhale sheds new light on this controversy and presents shocking new evidence that marijuana could hold a big stake in the future of medicine.

Why can't it be recreational and medicinal? I mean it has been proved to be medically benifitial. And It's recreational use is safer than tobacco and alcohol ,less addictive than caffine... People are evolving in levels of ignorance, I swear

Look,it's easy for someone to say medical marijuana is simply extending another substance that disturbs social order like alcohol or cocaine.Especially when they are a picture of health, but not everyone is.Some of us have had the misfortune of being injured in some way and require the use of opiate based pain medications.I personally have undergone three spinal cord implants one of which took 14 hours to complete the procedure. I've taken opiate based medication for 9 years and I'm currently on a small dose of methadone since having computers implanted on my spinal cord that place an electrical current across the damaged nerves in my spine.Effectively short circuiting pain signals to my brain,it's not 100%,I still have pain.I've been able to reduce my intake of opiates to a minimum.without the use of cannabis my opiate use goes up,when I smoke or vaporize cannabis my opiate use decreases. Not because it reduces my pain like the opiates,it affords me the ability to focus on other things and keeps my thoughts off of my pain.Without this aid I fear that my opiate use would remain at very unhealthy levels. Why shouldn't I be allowed to substitute my choice of medication,Cannabis, for the opiate based that will surely kill me,one way or another.Of course I can get just about any opiate based pain medication with a simple phone call to my doctors nurse, they'll have very few questions,my situation warrants heavy prescription drugs yet I don't want them, all I want to do is replace the prescription drugs with something much safer. So do me a favor, next time you see Steven Baldwin punch him in his hypocritical face, his charade with the "Christian right" isn't helping with my involuntary addiction, jerk!

You dont get high from smoking hemp, it would probably just taste horrid and do little else. Thats the male variety of the cannabis plant and contains virtually no THC. Hemp is used for fibers for clothing, oil, etc. The female variety of cannabis is whats known as "marijuana" though that word itself is actually a propaganda term to describe female cannabis. The flower or bud of the female plant is what people smoke, it is not hemp. Hemp is actually legal everywhere in the world, although the U.S. Government does not allow anyone to grow hemp, lol.
Einstein once said, "Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; though I'm not sure about the former."

Everyone has smoked. It is not dangerous.
I come from a small town and all the kids smoke or have smoked hemp.

Great doc. I quickly took a peek at wamm's website and saw this headline: Supreme Court Rules Against Compassionate Access. Check out wamm.org.

Just be careful everyone. You should absolutely have the right to take medication for yourself or for enjoyment if you choose to do so. No government should restrict that right HOWEVER just be careful of the FACT that the "elite" particularly used drugs to totally side track and de rail the free love movement of the late 50's and the 60's. Once the drugs came in, people totally lost their focus and just went nuts and look what happened after. It totally led to them seizing power again, and in fact that derailing of that consciousness awakening led to this skewed reality, and I think it's largely the fact that the agencies the military and so on used drugs to divert and defocus, *in combination* with concerted powerful propaganda. The elite said "divert this" and they did. Get it? So look what is happening NOW a major awakening of consciousness due to the bungled 911 and other false flag terrorism and we have all these great documentaries. This is not a time to get into drug taking. We need our faculties, our wits, our focus, we MUST see this revolution through until the end, not half way, not three quarters, but all the way home this time. We can never allow a military scientific dictatorship to rise again. When you know all is well, all is peace, and love is king on the planet, then you can go and have as much marijuana as you want, if you want. Until then realise that sure, this all may be true but it also may be the establishment reaching back into it's known bag of tricks to keep us defocused. The war on drugs has been run by then so they can corner the market and keep the substances in demand. So don't think they DONT want you to take drugs. They do, so you can be an assumed criminal, so they can supply to you, and so on. And perhaps because it's really NOT that good for us.

It was very well done, as a long time medical user with serious nerve damage I can atest that I would be long dead for if not for this incredably medicinal plant, everyone knows someone who bennifits from the medical use of cannabis, what a crazy world where one can be locked up like an animal for using such a wonderful plant. I thank God there is a plant like cannabis than can alow me to live a better quality of life, less pain, no need for prescription medicines. Thats where the problem lies I think.
