The FBI’s War on Black America

Through a secret program called the Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO), there was a concerted effort to subvert the will of the people to avoid the rise “of a black Messiah” that would mobilize the African-American community into a meaningful political force. This documentary establishes historical perspective on the measures initiated by J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI which aimed to discredit black political figures and forces of the late 1960?s and early 1970?s. Combining declassified documents, interviews, rare footage and exhaustive research, it investigates the government’s role in the assassinations of Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, and Martin Luther King Jr. Were the murders the result of this concerted effort to avoid “a black Messiah”?

Good documentary. Although it was stuff I already knew, it is good for someone asleep/blind to what is really going on. The struggle still exist, and its a shame how the greater majority of our people has taken on an Eurocentric thought pattern, of survival of the fittest. When they have taken on our Afrocentric thought pattern, survival of the tribe. The greater majority of whites are still for the system, which is now turning into Classcism, the impact hasn't hit full force yet. We see how the Occupy Movement came about, but it will be far too late for whites to fight back once they got that chip in them.

As political issues begain changing as far as racial injustice was concerned through a couple of decades,I began to turn toward relaxing and beleiving equality was making a break through. But yesterday I "woke up" where I live and saw the same out right predjidices I remember from school days in Rochester New York (Im 54 year old white male with an Hispanic wife).Segragtion is alive and well in 2011.Im not sure who controls it these days, but people who dont know me will blantly make racial jokes to me,or statements such as, "this is where we have the Spanish and Afro Americans, this is where all the crime is,stay out of there at night",like I belong in their stupid ass secret club or some shit. This is frieghtening to me.Nothing has changed, except minorities have been given a few public profile jobs.Freedom? When?
